Does that make sense?
I’m no expert, but the image I shared seems like a good example. Can swap the quarter note for eighth or eighth triplets.
Not sure if this work could be transposed to open/half-open hi-hat note-length, but that would be an awesome addition!
Stoked you’re looking into this.

joseph shelley Thanks for the image and additional context! I have a number of music notation books that I reference when building the notation for Beat Note. Cymbal swells are going to be really complicated, though, because it's not just the notation that needs to be addressed but also the playback. There's a lot of complexity in taking an audio sample and adjusting the length of it to fit a specified duration/tempo (see also the following enhancement for modifying how long an open hi-hat sounds: https://roadmap.beat-note.app/feature-requests/p/duration-of-the-open-hihat - and I see you already found it! 😅)
I'm all for including this in Beat Note. There's a lot of existing enhancement requests from users, and I need to work through them balancing a variety of priorities.
Thanks for your support! 🙏🏻

Thanks for this request, Joey Sommers!
Could you please include some examples of how you would expect this to be notated?
Thank you! Best, Derek
