Flam split across instruments/voices

I'd like to be able to notate flams that are split across two different instruments (or voices) on the drumset.
When flams are split across two voices, the primary note (accented or unaccented) is on one instrument (for example, the high tom), and the grace note is on a different instrument (for example, the snare drum).

An upvote on this for me. Being able to note a flam on any drum feels to me to be a fundamental feature that is notably missing

Gareth Collins Hi Gareth and thanks for sharing your feedback! I totally agree that flams are fundamental to drumming. That said, building software is a complicated process. The results you're seeing in Beat Note are about three years of full-time work, and I'm working as fast as I can.
Flams on the snare drum were introduced last week, and flams on all toms is scheduled for the next release so you can look forward to that soon. 👍🏻 Though I don't have a specific target release date for split flams, I intend to include them in a future 3.x release.
Please continue to share your feedback and contribute to the community!

Derek Lee Hi Derek we appreciate you and know this will take time. I want to add to the convo that split flams is a very important feature long term.

Benny Amon Thanks, Benny! I appreciate your kind comment. Based on my experience, many people don't realize exactly how much goes into not only building software, but even more so the efforts to ensure it is intuitive and simple to use.
I already have some ideas in my mind of how to implement this, as well as design mockups that I've shared with some users. I'd be happy to share these with you as well when we meet. 👍🏻

Q: What instruments could be used for the primary note?
- I think any drum or cymbal played with the hands could be used as the primary note. I think there are times when cymbals (ride, crash, or effect) or the hi-hat can be used as well as any drum played by the hands (snare or toms) as the primary note.
Q: What instruments could be used for the grace note?
- I think any drum played with the hands could be used as the grace note. I also think the hi-hat could be used for a grace note - and maybe a ride cymbal or bell could also be used as a grace note. At least off the top of my head I can't think of any instances where a crash or effect cymbal would be used as a grace note though.. 🤔
