Hotkeys on Mac version
Derek Lee
Thanks for your feedback, Ivan!
Hotkeys could be a great addition to the Mac version for sure.
I haven't used MuseScore much, so I'm unsure how this would work. When you press the "S" key for "snare", what do you expect it to do? Does it add a note? How do you determine where the note is added?
If you are interested in quick note entry, if you haven't already discovered, Beat Note allows you to swipe to add notes. This works both on touch screens and on the mac.
I haven't created proper documentation for this yet, but you can read about it here: https://beat-note.app/blog/teaching/educators/2024/10/07/enhancing-drum-teaching/
Please share more details about how you expect hotkeys to work on the mac. Thanks for supporting Beat Note!

Hey Derek,
In Musescore, for example, you can select notes by pressing arrows right and left, that is what determines the position. if you already have a note in a specific spot, you can hold shift and add another, like if you have a kick and want to add hihat. at the end, the user will have 2 options of inputting notes. by clicking as well as by typing on a keyboard.
i think this is a pretty cool feature and making it even simpler would really improve the mac version. you can try to use the app for inspiration and to borrow some ideas.
Best regards, Ivan
