I just realized that this request is a duplicate of one that already existed, so I'm going to close this out and move all votes to this request: https://roadmap.beat-note.app/feature-requests/p/choose-a-default-kit-set-of-instruments-to-be-used-for-each-new-beat-created
This helps keep the roadmap a bit clearer, and I'll link back to this from there as well since there are some useful comments. Thank you!

Thanks for this feature request, Anita Hoogewoonink! This is excellent feedback.
I'm hearing a few things here and would like to ask for some more clarification from you.
I adjusted the title of this feature request to reflect my understanding of what you're asking for. If I understand correctly, you want to be able to define or configure your own "default" list of instruments, and each time you create a new beat, those instruments are added by default.
I also hear that it might be helpful to be able to add more than one instrument at a time, instead of adding them one-by-one. I can see how this would speed up the process as well. I'll make a separate request for that. 👍🏻

Here's a new feature request for adding multiple instruments at one time: https://beat-note.canny.io/feature-requests/p/id-like-to-add-multiple-instruments-at-one-time

As I'm unsure when I can make the time to squeeze this enhancement in, I'd like to offer you a work-around for the time being.
Given your request, I think you can accomplish this in Beat Note already using the following work around:
- Create a new beat. This will be your "template" beat.
- Give the beat a name like "New Beat Template" or something you can use to identify it as your "template" beat.
- Add all of the instruments you want to have in the new beat.
Now, each time you want to create a beat with these instruments, simply make a duplicate of this template beat. The duplicate will be called "Duplicate of Template Beat" and you can change the name to anything you want.
If you like having a random name generated for you, you can simply delete the name from the "Edit Beat" screen and it will generate a new random name for you.
I plan work on an implementation that addresses your request, but this should help speed things along for you for the time being.
How does this sound? 🤔

Derek Lee: Thank you. It occurred to me, making a template, but I thought it was only possible within a beat to duplicate a measure, but of course from the main screen, I can duplicate a beat as well. Thank you for your suggestion and best wishes for 2024.

Derek Lee: You are good at “reading between the lines”. Thank you for interpreting my request as I meant it. English not being my native language also limits me in expressing myself concisely.

Anita Hoogewoonink: No worries at all, Anita! It's my pleasure to connect with you and work together to make sure I understand your needs. 👍🏻 Thanks so much for your support and looking forward to building our relationship and the Beat Note community further in 2024! 🎉

Derek Lee I see the value in a personalized default instrument list as well. I was about to create a request until I read this feed :)
Ex. If I am shedding snare drum / rudimental music for a while, setting a default to only show the snare every time I create a Beat would be awesome.
Likewise, if my home kit is a 6 piece, setting that as my default would more personalize BN and streamline my time.
I can see this being effective in 2 ways: A) saving the previously used Beat instrument list as the default or B) manually adjusting the default.
The current default of Kick,Snare,Hat is a perfect starting point IMO. Plus it’s a nice nod to the company name.

I mean cymbals ( not symbols)
