Hi steven shapiro,
Thank you for the suggestion. I have a question.
- Are you asking for this cymbal to have its own line and audio sample?
- Can you show us an example of how you would visualize two crash cymbals on the staff notation?
Than you,
Derek Lee
Kevin Jimenez Thanks for asking these questions to clarify!
steven shapiro I'm wondering what you mean by "lower". What about the cymbal is lower that you want?
steven shapiro
Derek Lee i mean lower as in a secondary, larger diameter crash cymbal, like an 18in, that produces a lower pitched sound in comparison to the primary crash cymbal, such as a 16in. Doesn’t necessarily need its own audio sample, but a way to notate it on the staff in order to differentiate which cymbal to play for those who have multiple crash cymbals. Generally, the secondary crash is notated as an underlined (__) X, as opposed to the primary crash, which is notated by an X with a line intersecting it.
