i tried to use the e-mail derek function on my iphone, but it just tells me that i don't have an email set up on this device and tells me to get one set up without giving me any idea on how to.

so either the detection doesn't work or there's some arcane setup that i haven't done yet that the little error message should probably tell me how to do.
