I was attempting to add a rest to my beat and was unable too. I’ll try it again and reach back out if I have issues again. Thanks

Hi Danielle, welcome to the beat note community.
Regarding your question,
Rests are automatically added when you input your drum beat notation. Is there something specific you are trying to do with rests?

Kevin Jimenez is it possible to also have an option to remove rest notes? In regards to this I'm specifically asking for where the kick 1/4 note rests are.

Willim86 The rests are automatically inputed or deleted depending on your beat notation. If you leave space between your notes it will add the appropriate rest.
The view of it can change depending on the voicing you choose with the stems. If we choose to separate the bass stems from the hands, it will treat that line as its own instrument and add the rests accordingly.
Can you expand more on why you want control of the rests? If you can attach screenshots that is also very helpful. Thank you :D

Kevin Jimenez the lessons I take with my instructor he hand writes notations & uses the split voicing for the bass stems. He only incorporates 8th & 16th note rests. I do like to convert it into the printed version through the app cause it makes things easier to read. However, I tend to misread the rests accidentally as notes sometimes as I'm still learning to read notations. Here is an example of how he writes out things for me & it would just help me go through his lessons, but with a cleaner version. I do understand that it may be a little extra of me to ask if transcripts generally are written how the app voices them.

Willim86 ah I understand now.
I use to do something similar with my students but I would not even write rests on the kick drum line. It was more of a speed thing for me to get the transcription out to my student.
What you are asking would not be possible because the music theory would be incorrect. Your instructor is only filling in an 8th note rest when you have 8th note kicks before and after, but leaves everything else blank. What the app does is gives you the correct translation.
What I would recommend is using the default view where all stems are connected. It takes a little time to get use to but it will make things easier to follow until you get use to reading rests.
I hope this helps,
Thanks again for the detailed responses.

Kevin Jimenez no problem! I do appreciate all the feedback & it'll just be something I'll have to work on with myself then. That all makes sense. Thank you!
